About the role

Principal Sales Account Executive
Commerce Architects is a tight-knit team of problem solvers dedicated to delivering exceptional custom software solutions. After 15+ years of success as a boutique agency, we're ready for our next big leap — hiring our first Principal Sales Account Executive.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to join our talented team and shape the future of sales at Commerce Architects. You will expand and execute on our sales function. This will include understanding current sales tools and approaches as well as providing suggestions and input to improve these capabilities. This is a hunter seat: you will not inherit a book of business, you will not be handed inbound, and you will not have an SDR. What you bring to Day 1 is your network, your judgment, and the discipline to turn both into revenue.
What defines our values? A commitment to quality that's earned us a 100% referenceable client list. Strong partnerships based on trust and integrity. And a passion for solving complex business challenges through custom cloud applications.
From retail and wellness to airlines, supply chain, and financial services, our clients span diverse industries but share a need for innovative solutions. As our first Principal Sales Account Executive, you'll have the chance to create new paths — introducing our market-ready offers to an expanding customer base of mid-market and enterprise buyers, and closing six-figure engagements from your own network within your first two quarters.
Most importantly, you'll join a phenomenal team that prioritizes collaboration over egos. We prize problem-solving skills over fancy titles. And we strive to make each other better through open communication and mentorship.
If you're an inspiring sales leader eager to roll up your sleeves and be part of building something special, we want to hear from you. Join a culture where teamwork rules and great work is rewarded.
What You Will Do

Build and implement a successful sales strategy to achieve a $3M new-logo annual services revenue target, with the majority self-sourced from your own network and outbound.

Identify, target, and close new six-figure business opportunities using our Go-To-Market offers, owning the sale end-to-end from prospecting through negotiation and close.

Partner with our solutions architects on discovery, scoping, and proposal for ambiguous, custom-scoped engagements.

Utilize CRM tools to manage sales pipeline and forecast accurately each week, with clear source attribution on every opportunity.

Generate and present reports on sales, pipeline health, and sales blockers to the COO

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Director, VP, and C-level economic buyers, growing named strategic accounts into multi-engagement, multi-year relationships.

Collaborate with marketing and delivery leadership to refine and tailor our value propositions to target verticals.

Expand our customer base through direct sales, partnerships, and strategic alliances.

Create and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and demonstrations.

Provide strategic input to shape the future of the sales organization

This role may require approximately 25–30% travel, primarily for client meetings, industry events, and other business-related activities

What you'll need

Successful candidates will bring the following:

Track record of sourcing and closing new Cloud / Ecommerce / custom software services business in excess of $5 Million dollars (cumulative) in the last 3 years — not SaaS seats or product licenses.

Minimum 7 years experience as an Account Executive selling services engagements.

Personally closed multiple engagements at $250,000 ACV or higher to Director, VP, or C-level economic buyers.

Portable network of buyers in one or more of our target verticals: retail, ecommerce, supply chain, travel & hospitality, wellness, health, or financial services.

Ability to name 8 or more buyers you have personally sold to in the last 3 years at 6 or more distinct companies.

Ability to expand services in existing accounts by discovering new opportunities.

Desire and proven ability to create a new sales process from scratch.

Strong strategic planning, prospecting, and negotiation skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
