About the role

About Bio-Works

Bio-Works develops and supplies high-performance chromatography resins for downstream purification of proteins and other biomolecules. We support biotech, biopharma, and CDMO customers from early process development to production scale with robust, scalable purification solutions.
Our core focus is chromatography for downstream processing — from lab to manufacturing.

The Role

We are looking for a commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to accelerate Bio-Works’ growth in Germany.

This is a high-impact, individual contributor role focused on rapid customer acquisition and market penetration. The position does not include people management responsibilities.

You will be responsible for building and executing a structured territory plan, opening new accounts, and driving adoption of Bio-Works’ chromatography solutions across biotech, biopharma, and CDMO environments.

What Success Looks Like

Aggressively expanding Bio-Works’ footprint in Germany

Opening and developing new accounts across biotech and CDMO segments

Running independent technical presentations and workshops

Building a strong, well-qualified pipeline

Converting opportunities into measurable revenue growth

Key Responsibilities

Territory Development & New Business

Develop and execute a clear territory strategy focused on chromatography and downstream purification.

Identify, prospect, and win new customers within biotech, biopharma, and CDMO organizations.

Drive structured outreach, customer meetings, technical seminars, and follow-up.

Build long-term commercial relationships with process development, manufacturing, and procurement teams.

Technical & Commercial Selling

Conduct independent technical presentations on:

Affinity, ion exchange, mixed-mode, and HIC chromatography

Capture and polishing strategies

Resin selection and scale-up considerations

Confidently discuss downstream processing from lab to production scale.

Address customer questions related to GMP environments, validation concerns, and lifecycle economics.

Position Bio-Works as a credible alternative to established market leaders.

Pipeline & Performance Management

Build and maintain a strong, active sales pipeline.

Manage opportunities through disciplined CRM usage.

Deliver reliable forecasts and structured reporting.

Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.

Market Intelligence & Collaboration

Represent Bio-Works at trade fairs, conferences, and technical events.

Provide structured feedback on competitive positioning and market trends.

Collaborate with Marketing and Application teams to support customer projects.

Required Profile

BSc or MSc in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related life sciences field.

5–8 years of field sales experience within:

Chromatography

Downstream processing

Bioprocessing consumables

Purification technologies

Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.

Ability to independently run technical sales presentations without application support.

Solid understanding of downstream processing workflows, including scale-up considerations.

Working knowledge of GMP production environments and related regulatory awareness.

Fluent German and strong English skills.

Willingness to travel extensively within Germany.

Who You Are

Commercially ambitious and driven by growth targets.

Technically credible in front of process development and manufacturing teams.

Structured and disciplined in territory planning and follow-up.

Comfortable challenging established suppliers.

Energized by building new business rather than maintaining legacy accounts.

Self-reliant and confident operating independently.

What We Offer

A high-autonomy sales role with direct impact on company growth.

Competitive compensation with strong performance-based incentives.

An entrepreneurial, agile international organization.

Remote structure with flexibility and ownership of your territory.

Clear opportunity to shape Bio-Works’ position in the German bioprocessing market.

If you combine strong commercial drive with technical understanding of chromatography and downstream processing — and thrive on building new business — we look forward to hearing from you.
